#FRAWorldSBK: Decent race one at Magny-Cours

After a rain soaked Superpole session this morning, Sandro Cortese showed a solid comeback during the weekend’s first race in France.

This weekend’s round eleven of the Superbike World Championship in France was marked by changeable weather on both days of practice. After a rainy Superpole on Saturday morning, Sandro Cortese had to start from 17th spot on the starting grid. However, the race took place on a completely dry track, which the 28-year-old rider from Germany’s Berkheim closed in a good P10.

#11 Sandro CORTESE (GRT Yamaha WorldSBK, Yamaha YZF R1), Grid position 17th / Race1: P10:

"With just a few laps in dry conditions and the fact that we're here at Magny-Cours with the Superbike for the first time, we weren't quite sure which direction to take in terms of the set-up for the race. However, given the difficulties we've had this weekend due to the changeable weather, I'm happy with today's result. Of course, it would have been nice if I hadn't lost one position in the last lap, but tenth place is still a good start. At least, I know the track a little better now and we have a clearer idea of what we need for a dry set-up. So, we'll try to improve tomorrow."
